Blaster Master: Destination Fred is an April Fools' Day hoax game fabricated by Sunsoft in the spirit of the holiday. On April 1st, 2010, Sunsoft sent out a press release claiming that a "proper sequel" to Blaster Master had been found among old storage materials and was to be released on Nintendo's Wii Virtual Console service before the end of the month.
