Immigration Ship L-229 (abbreviated as Ship L-229) is the main location of Area C and the third main stage of Blaster Master Zero 2.

Immigration Ship L-229 originally held passengers traveling from Sophia in search of a new world; according to Eve, it had departed 150 years ago. It had Defend Them All to protect those boarded on the ship; however, the ship was eventually attacked by mutants, and Defend Them All was corrupted and became a weapon of destruction instead of a defense system.
Onboard the ship is a source that can increase Gaia-SOPHIA's energy output, which can put Eve at greater ease, as she is hindering her corruption by staying attached to SOPHIA. While traveling the ship, Jason will come across barriers that cannot be destroyed currently; on most occasions, Defend Them All is looming in the background in these situations and can be tricked into disabling these barriers with its drill attacks. The player must use this exploit in order to proceed through most of the ship before eventually obtaining Burn Spark, the source needed to increase energy output. Once Burn Spark is obtained, G-SOPHIA can dispel the security barriers unaided, Eve can be awakened from her sleep mode, and Jason can finally put an end to Defend Them All's tyranny.
In addition to the aforementioned security barriers, certain side view passages are lined with flamethrowers that trigger when G-SOPHIA approaches. Top-down view dungeons on the immigration ship are populated with mechanical Cross Turrets (identical to those appearing within Earth's underground sectors in Blaster Master Zero) and cordoned off by mutant cables which reflect stray bullets from these turrets toward Jason. Cables can be broken open for a time with any weapon, but will only be destroyed permanently when they are scorched by fire-element attacks (Torch Bomb and fire-empowered G-Blaster/Splasher/EX Charge Gun Levels).
